It is built in the old site of the primitive medieval chapel El Salvador. It was built during the second third of the XVI century and it is considered an important renaissance building with a relevant architectonical value.
The museum shows, by means of its archeological pieces and interactive rooms, how our ancient people lived through a chronological study of the main cultural periods of the Human Being.
It is a top quality facility situated in mid historical centre of the city. It houses pieces of great patrimonial value, i.e. the fruit of the many findings made in the excavations carried out in different archeological sites, above all, those carried out in the Iberian-Roman complex of “La Encarnacion”. In this museum we can find ceramics, arms, coins, architectonical elements, etc.
