La adhesión a la Red Nacional de Destinos Turísticos Inteligentes supone una apuesta por diferenciar al municipio y mejorar su posicionamiento como destino de interior seguro y adaptado a las tecnologías

El concejal de Turismo expuso las líneas de trabajo que se siguen para formar parte de esta red de 120 destinos españoles, de la mano de la sociedad estatal Segittur y el Instituto de Turismo de la Región de Murcia.

Caravaca de la Cruz ha participado -como uno de los siete municipios de la Región que pasará a formar parte de la Red de Destinos Turísticos Inteligentes- en la IV Jornada de Inteligencia Turística, que reunió en formato semipresencial a cerca de 300 profesionales y a una treintena de expertos en el auditorio de Cartagena.

El concejal de Turismo, José Carlos Gómez, formó parte de una de las cinco mesas de debate que compusieron el evento y abordó el proceso de transformación a este modelo que está impulsado el Ayuntamiento de Caravaca de la Cruz, tutorizado por la sociedad estatal Segittur, con la colaboración del Instituto de Turismo de la Región de Murcia.

"La jornada tuvo entre sus objetivos apostar por esta estrategia de éxito en muchos lugares de España y en otros países para reactivar y reconvertir el sector de forma sostenible y segura", ha señalado el responsable del área de Turismo en el Consistorio caravaqueño. La jornada fue inaugurada por la consejera de Turismo, Juventud y Deportes, Cristina Sánchez, y contó con representantes de la Subdirección General de desarrollo de Sostenibilidad (SETUR) de la Secretaria de Estado de Turismo, y de la Sociedad Mercantil Estatal para la Gestión de la Innovación y las Tecnologías Turísticas (Segittur), entre otras instituciones.

En la actualidad la Red Internacional de Destinos Turísticos Inteligentes cuenta con 179 miembros, de los cuales 119 son destinos de toda España. Los municipios que se adhieren ganan en innovación, accesibilidad, proyección y calidad.

Tras su aprobación en Pleno a propuesta de la Concejalía de Turismo, se puso en marcha la fase de consultoría y auto diagnóstico, donde quedará reflejada la situación de la que se parte, los proyectos que están en marcha, así como las iniciativas futuras del equipo de Gobierno. La práctica mayoría de las áreas del Ayuntamiento están implicadas en el proyecto y realizan un análisis sobre cinco grandes bloques: accesibilidad, sostenibilidad, gobernanza, tecnología e innovación. En base a esto, la sociedad estatal Segittur -que promueve los Destinos Turísticos Inteligentes- llevará a cabo una evaluación previa y de los resultados saldrá el plan de actuación a seguir para los próximos años.

La propuesta inicial presentada por la sociedad Segittur, a petición del Ayuntamiento caravaqueño y de la Consejería de Turismo de la Región de Murcia, se articula en torno a elementos claves como son potenciar los valores diferenciales de Caravaca de la Cruz frente a otros destinos competidores y mejorar su posicionamiento en la esfera turística nacional e internacional, a través de la aplicación de las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación y otras herramientas.

La adhesión, en este momento de fuerte impacto de la pandemia de la Covid-19, supone la apuesta del Ayuntamiento de Caravaca de la Cruz por renovar e invertir en diferentes alternativas que posibiliten el conocimiento de la oferta actualizada del sector, favorezcan la gestión de reservas y compra, garanticen la movilidad de forma segura y adviertan de las nuevas medidas sanitarias a la población local y los futuros visitantes.
