Los alcaldes de los dos municipios que protagonizan hasta mayo la muestra, Noelia Arroyo y José Francisco García, la han inaugurado, acompañados del artista y de representantes de la Fundación Camino de la Cruz, entidad público privada patrocinadora del proyecto.

 

El alcalde de Caravaca ha elogiado a Zacarías Cerezo por “esta crónica visual sobre la riqueza patrimonial y paisajística que los peregrinos y los amantes del turismo activo encuentran a su paso, siendo esta una magnífica forma de promoción a través del arte”

El Museo del Teatro Romano de Cartagena acoge hasta el próximo mes de mayo la exposición “De Cartagena a Caravaca de la Cruz. Una peregrinación contada a la acuarela”, compuesta por una colección de obras del reconocido acuarelista murciano Zacarías Cerezo.

Los alcaldes de los dos municipios que protagonizan la muestra, Noelia Arroyo y José Francisco García, han sido los encargados de inaugurarla, acompañados del propio artista y de representantes de la Fundación Camino de la Cruz, entidad público privada patrocinadora de la iniciativa. También han participado el secretario general de la Consejería de Presidencia, Turismo y Deportes de la Comunidad Autónoma, Juan Antonio Lorca, y el hermano mayor de la Cofradía de la Vera Cruz, Luis Melgarejo.

El alcalde caravaqueño ha elogiado a Zacarías Cerezo por “esta crónica visual sobre la riqueza patrimonial y paisajística que los peregrinos y los amantes del turismo activo encuentran a su paso, siendo esta una magnífica forma de promoción a través del arte”. José Francisco García también ha tenido palabras de agradecimiento para la Fundación Camino de la Cruz, “que cumple nuevamente con uno de sus propósitos principales: divulgar los caminos y que sean cada vez más los peregrinos que se adentren por ellos para llegar hasta Caravaca”.

La exposición forma parte del proyecto ‘Camino del Apóstol. Andar para pintarlo’, plasmado en un libro de 200 imágenes realizadas en acuarela, que surgió cuando Zacarías Cerezo decidió recorrer esta vía de peregrinación de 158 kilómetros para captar a través de los pinceles la esencia de los dos municipios por donde discurre, convirtiéndose así en todo un homenaje a la Región de Murcia.

Además de la mencionada publicación, del proyecto ‘Camino del Apóstol. Andar para pintarlo’ también emanan las exposiciones itinerantes, cada una con un contenido distinto, que viajan por distintos municipios del camino. Un recorrido que se inició en la Compañía de Jesús de Caravaca y ahora continua en el Museo del Teatro Romano de Cartagena.

La exposición que se celebra en la ciudad portuaria por espacio de cuatro meses está compuesta exclusivamente por imágenes de Cartagena y Caravaca de la Cruz, como puntos de inicio y fin del ‘Camino del Apóstol’, una vía de peregrinación que sigue las huellas del apóstol desde el Puerto de Santa Lucía donde, según la tradición, puso sus pies por primera vez en Hispania cuando vino a evangelizarla.

La exposición estará abierta hasta el 30 de abril de martes a sábado, de 10.00 a 18.00 horas (domingos de 10.00 a 14.00 horas). Durante el mes de mayo el horario será de martes a sábado, de 10.00 a 20.00 horas (domingos de 10.00 a 14.00 horas).
