El Pleno del Ayuntamiento de Caravaca de la Cruz volvió a mostrar su rechazo unánime a cualquier manifestación de violencia machista y exigió que se refuercen y se pongan en marcha todas las medidas contenidas en el Pacto Nacional contra la Violencia de Género.
La moción expresa la oposición a cualquier posicionamiento político que aminore las medidas de protección de las mujeres frente a este tipo de violencia y apuesta por reforzar la acción de las administraciones locales en la lucha contra la violencia machista y la protección y atención a las víctimas.

El Ayuntamiento de Caravaca de la Cruz ha iniciado los trabajos para la revisión y actualización del Plan General de Ordenación Urbana (PGMO), con estudios previos que permitan obtener un diagnóstico de la situación urbanística del municipio.
Los concejales de Urbanismo y Obras, Enrique Fuentes, y Servicios, Jesús Sánchez, han subrayado que tanto los cambios normativos marcados por la Ley de Ordenación Territorial y Urbanística de la Región de Murcia como las numerosas carencias y disfunciones del texto actual hacen necesario acometer una modificación del PGMO.
Por su parte, el concejal Jesús Sánchez ha dicho que el objetivo final es que el documento resultante garantice el desarrollo sostenible y armónico del municipio y resulte beneficioso para la mayoría de vecinos del casco urbano y las pedanías.

Dentro del ‘Día Internacional de la Mujer’, la II Marcha por la Igualdad de Caravaca de la Cruz se celebra el próximo 10 de marzo, promovida por la Asociación Cultural Cábila Femenina Almorávides, con la Concejalía de Deportes del Ayuntamiento caravaqueño y distintas firmas patrocinadoras. Las inscripciones ya se pueden formalizar en librería ‘Papiro’ (Caravaca, calle Asturias) y de forma online en asuspuestos.com.
Las inscripciones tienen un coste de trece euros y de seis euros para niños y niñas de entre los tres y los doce años. Incluye avituallamiento, asistencia médica y seguro de responsabilidad civil. La recogida de camisetas y dorsales será el sábado 9 de marzo, en la Casa de la Cultura ‘Emilio Sáez’, de 16.00 a 20.00 horas, previa presentación de justificante de pago.

La Concejalía de Juventud del Ayuntamiento de Caravaca de la Cruz ha puesto en marcha la duodécima edición del programa de prevención de drogodependencias ‘Viaje saludable’.
El nombre del programa responde a la manera de premiar a los estudiantes que de forma voluntaria entran a formar parte de este programa y consiguen llegar a su fase final cumpliendo todos los compromisos adquiridos, ya que participarán en un fin de semana de ocio y convivencia en un albergue juvenil de la costa y, además, entrarán en un sorteo de plazas para representar a Caravaca de la Cruz en uno de los encuentros juveniles europeos a los asiste la Concejalía de Juventud.

La Oficina Municipal del Consumidor (OMIC) del Ayuntamiento de Caravaca de la Cruz atendió en 2018 a 3.019 consumidores y usuarios. Del total de atenciones realizadas durante el pasado año, 421 se corresponden con reclamaciones y 2.688 fueron consultas relacionadas con trámites administrativos o con la legislación en materia de consumo, entre otros asuntos.
La cifra de ciudadanos que ha solicitado los servicios de la OMIC se ha incrementado en un 2% con respecto al periodo anterior, siguiendo la tónica alcista de la última década.

La actriz Beatriz Rico representa en el teatro Thuillier ‘Antes muerta que convicta’, dentro de la programación de la Concejalía de Cultura del Consistorio caravaqueño. El espectáculo tendrá lugar este domingo, 17 de febrero, a las 19.00 horas, y las entradas están a la venta de forma anticipada, al precio de siete euros, en Nueva Joyería (calle Mayor) y en taquilla a diez euros.
